American International School is accredited by AdvancEd (worldwide organization unifying a number of key agencies on school accreditation and improvement, formerly CITA). This ensures global recognition of quality, service and benefits AIS provides to its learners. The school will undertake NEASC accreditation to improve the quality of education.
KHDA has partnered with the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) to establish and implement an accreditation process appropriate to “US curriculum” schools in Dubai. Through this partnership, KHDA aims at ensuring “US curriculum” schools offer quality teaching and learning experiences for all their students. This partnership will also offer students and their parents a curriculum where academic standards and attainment are benchmarked against international norms.
Founded in 1885, the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc., (NEASC) is the nation’s oldest accrediting association, serving more than 2,000 public and independent schools, colleges and universities in the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, and American/international schools in more than sixty nations worldwide. It is characterized by a commitment to establishing and maintaining high standards for all levels of education (pre-K-to doctoral level) within one association.
Accreditation relies on a voluntary, peer review process engaging educators in the region on hundreds of reviews in any year. A self-study process of 12-18 months is undertaken by schools and colleges in regular review cycles. The goals are effectiveness, improvement and public assurance.
AIS follows the American-curriculum based on international benchmarks. Students graduating from AIS can join any reputable university of their choice based on their school performance, CITA accreditation, and achievement on world-recognized standardized tests (SAT and TOEFL IBT), which the school thoroughly prepares its students for.
